Cooper Mission Hospital Eye Unit

In Liberia, Dr. Roger Muhemi accepted a position to lead the eye ministry at Cooper Mission Hospital in Liberia beginning in 2022. GEM has provided many pieces of eye equipment, instruments and supplies to help this ministry succeed under Dr. Muhemi’s leadership. Networking for volunteer eye care providers to assist Dr. Muhemi is also ongoing. The hospital has plans for a significant renovation of the existing facilities including the eye clinic and operating room. We are thankful for Dr. Muhemi’s desire and commitment to serve as a mission doctor and his heart for ministry. Dr. Muhemi has served on a GEM outreach project to West Africa and is a graduate of the ophthalmology training program with Dr. Wendy Hofman at Bongolo Hospital in Gabon.
